1. Why choose BOON PHYSIOTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION CENTRE?

Our physiotherapists go through ongoing education to enrich their advanced understanding of human body’s biomechanics and anatomy, movement therapy, pathology and any physiotherapy-related areas to ensure that our patients will get the best treatment. Our physiotherapists are registered under Malaysian Physiotherapy Association which our patients can be confident in our high standard of ethics and professionalism.

 

2. What payment terms are available?

We accept cash and credit card payment.

 

3. What are your opening hours?
Our general opening hours are as below:
Monday: Closed
Tuesday to Saturday: 10.00am – 7.00pm
Sunday: 10.00am – 1.00pm

Patients are advised to call and make appointment beforehand to avoid any disappointment.


4. How quickly will I be seen for my first appointment?
We will always endeavour to offer you an appointment within 24 hours of you contacting us.

 

5. Do I need to see my doctor first?
It is not necessarily to see your doctor first unless your insurance company requires a doctor’s referral. BOON PHYSIOTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION CENTRE’s physiotherapists are highly skilled and professional in assessing and diagnosing our patients’ condition. If our physiotherapists feel that you need a doctor’s opinion, medication, imaging, surgery or any other form of procedure, we will advise you immediately.

7. What should I expect on my fist visit?
On your first visit, your physiotherapist reviews your injury or condition and plans a treatment program for you. The review includes the following:
•    Questions about your present condition and health history.
•    Physiotherapy examination to assess your injury or condition. This assessment sometimes temporarily increase your pain.
•    Review of your assessment findings with a recommended treatment plan
•    Your consent to treatment

 

8. Can I bring someone with me to the treatment sessions?
You are very welcome to bring someone with you to your appointment, and they can sit in on the consultation and treatment with you if you wish. However, a maximum of 2 companions is advisable to maintain a serene and comfortable environment for you and other patients during treatment.

 

9. What should I wear?
It is always advisable for our patients to wear comfortable and loose fitting clothes for treatments.

 

10. Should I bring my past medical results to the physiotherapy appointment?
It is always advisable to bring past medical results if applicable such as X-Ray scans, MRI scans, CT scans, and/or medical report.


11. How long will my appointment be?
The length of time of your first appointment varies from condition to condition. For your first appointment, we suggest that you give yourself approximately 60 minutes of your time in the clinic. For follow-up appointments, give yourself about 45 to 60 minutes.


12. Are treatments painful?
One of the primary objectives of the patients is pain relief and can frequently be accomplished by hands-on-techniques, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and/or heat or cold treatment. Our physiotherapists will provide you with a customised and appropriate exercises to relief pain and to recover range of motion, strength, and endurance.
However, physiotherapy techniques can be painful in some cases such as recovering shoulder range of motion after shoulder surgery. Our physiotherapists will utilise a range of techniques to help to achieve your treatment goals.
It is advisable to communicate with our physiotherapists on the intensity, frequency, and duration of pain for our physiotherapists to adjust and alter your treatment plan. 


13. Does everyone that BOON PHYSIOTHERAPY AND REHABILITATION CENTRE treats get better?
There are never any guarantees in the health care world. However, if the patients and our physiotherapists are committed to working towards common goals, most outcomes are successful.

 

14. How many treatments does it take to get better?
The number of treatments to recover can never be answered accurately as no two problems are the same because every patient is unique. Therefore, a detailed assessment is necessary to identify all the factors involved in the pain/problem. Our physiotherapists need to re-assess and re-evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment interventions as well as to the progress the treatment frequently. The speed of recovery is also affected by patients’ factors such as age, occupations, hobbies, psycho-social factors, natural history and so on.

 

15. Do you offer home visits/house calls?
Yes. These can be arranged for patients who are disabled or are too ill to attend the practice. For more information on home visits/house calls, please click here.

 

16. What if I need to cancel the appointment?
To manage patient care more efficiently, we would appreciate 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations. Repeated cancellation at short notice or failures to attend may result in a fee being charged. We also reserve the right to remove you from our centre as a patient.

 

17. What if I am late for my appointment?
To manage patient care more efficiently, we would appreciate our patients to be punctual for appointments. Please try to contact us to inform us of your situation as early as possible. Regardless, we will endeavour to see you as soon as possible when you arrive. This depends on how many patients are booked with us. Our staff will inform you of the possible waiting time.

 

18. Are my personal details and medical information kept confidentially?
Yes, all information you provide is kept completely confidential during and after your visit. We abide by regulations set by the Malaysian Physiotherapy Association and Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act.
